BSP offers a comprehensive transportation planning and traffic engineering service for a wide variety of clients and their needs. Our team has considerable experience and expertise, which has been gained over many years of working in both the public and private sector.
Our staff are commercially aware, and have a good track record of negotiating with various authorities to achieve the necessary approvals.
Transport planning work which is required to accompany planning applications is set out in the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and associated Planning Practice Guidance (PPG) on Travel Plans, Transport Assessments and Statements.
Our staff have a thorough knowledge of these documents, plus extensive experience of working within the context of other guidance documents, including the Manual for Streets, DMRB series, Good Practice Guidelines for Travel Plans, as well as local authority design guidance and policies.
Sustainability is key and we seek to minimise the impact of additional traffic, in terms of congestion and highway safety, with practical and innovative sustainable transport solutions, as well as designing highway capacity and safety improvements where necessary.
We have worked on a diverse range of private and public sector projects, ranging from small bespoke schemes to large multi-million-pound developments.
Our input includes feasibility work at inception stage of projects, assistance with the promotion of sites at a strategic level and work associated with the planning application phase and, if necessary, planning appeals and S106 negotiations.
