Contractor Miller Knight won ‘Commercial Development of the Year’ for Sutton Academy Theatre. BSP worked together on the project with the Miller team through CPMG Architects, who appointed us to handle the structural solutions of the alterations and refurbishments for the refurbishment and upgrade of the theatre, as part of the £6.27million Future High Streets Fund.
This same project was also a finalist in the Regeneration & Restoration category at East Midlands Property Dinner 2026 earlier in September.

The Leicestershire project was also recently awarded Residential Project of the Year at the Constructing Excellence Midlands East Awards 2026 in June.
Our project, ‘On Freedoms Wings’ unfortunately didn’t’ take a trophy on the night, however it was a finalist in the Design Excellence Award category. This the third time the life-size Lancaster Bomber has been acknowledged in awards this year, most notably being crowned winner in the ‘Best New Project’ category at the East Midlands Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) Awards 2026 in April this year.
BSP Consulting’s Business Development Manager Carrie Booth said: “It was so good to see multiple projects that the BSP team has been involved with up for awards – either as winners or recognised as finalists.
“The event celebrated some of the best construction projects in the region and we were proud to see so many friends and colleagues that we’ve worked with over the years being honoured for their contributions to the East Midlands property and construction landscape.
