A new £4million Padel Centre being brought forward by ALB Developments in Nottingham has secured planning permission.
Nottingham-based developer ALB Group put forward proposals for Padel House, an eight-court sports and leisure facility earmarked for a 7.5-acre former car park on Electric Avenue, in January this year.
Designed by Leonard Design architects, the wider team behind the scheme includes planning consultancy Aspbury Planning and civil and structural engineers BSP Consulting, who handled the flood risk assessment and drainage strategy for the proposed scheme.
ALB is currently converting next-door Riverleen House, a former office building which was previously the headquarters of Experian, into a 160-home residential scheme.
Nottingham City Council’s planning committee approved the Padel Centre plans in July, paving the way for another top-class sporting venue in Nottingham.
ALB’s managing director Arran Bailey commented: “We are absolutely delighted to have secured planning approval for Padel House. We believe this will be another high-quality sporting venue in the city to stand alongside Nottingham Forest Football Club’s City Ground, Trent Bridge Cricket Ground and the National Water Sports Centre at Holme Pierrepont.
“Receiving planning permission is a huge milestone and allows us to move forward with the next phase of development. We firmly believe Padel House will become a major sporting and social destination for the city, attracting players, visitors from the UK and beyond.”
Alongside the courts, Padel House will feature a Pilates studio, PT studio, physiotherapy facilities, coworking space, offices, a lounge, bar, roof terrace, events plaza and food outlets brought to life by the team behind Public and Arran’s Bagel.
