BSP is celebrating an award win at the ProCon Leicestershire Awards 2022.

We were involved in the civil and structural engineering aspects of the £4.75m Wyggeston’s Hospital Hub and Cottages scheme in Leicester, submitted by Corporate Architecture.

The development won Large Residential Scheme of the Year at the awards, which took place at Leicester’s King Power Stadium. The award was sponsored by Jessup Partnerships.

Sheltered housing

Founded as an almshouse charity in 1513, Wyggeston’s Hospital has been providing sheltered housing, support and care for vulnerable older people in Leicester for more than 500 years.

This latest development included adding a new administrative and entertainment hub and additional housing to the existing extra-care accommodation. Eight new apartments and six cottages were created. A newly landscaped scheme was also provided for residents to enjoy.

Wyggestons is located on Hinckley Road, Leicester, and the scheme was completed in January 2022.

BSP director Paul Elphick said: “We’re delighted with the news that BSP is celebrating an award win from the ProCon Leicestershire Awards 2022. These are some key awards for the Leicester and Leicestershire construction sector. It’s great to have been part of the team that won Large Residential Scheme of the Year.
