Affordable homes in Boston
September 21, 2023

Work is progressing well on a scheme to create 135 affordable homes in Boston in Lincolnshire.

BSP Consulting is civil and structural engineer on the project which is being developed by Longhurst Group and built by BSP’s client D Brown Builders.

The Leas on Toot Lane in the town will provide much-needed affordable housing in the area.

Construction on the one, two, three and four-bedroom homes started earlier this year and is now well under way.

BSP director Paul Elphick said: “Having worked with Longhurst Group on a number of projects, we are very pleased to be supporting the group to develop more affordable homes in Boston.

“The infrastructure on the site is complete and work is now cracking on to build the homes.”

Progress

Marcus Keys, Longhurst Group Executive Director for Growth, Development and Assets, said: “I’m really pleased to see the progress being made at The Leas in Boston.

“This is a very important development for the Group, being one of the largest we’ve developed on our own.

“We know that there’s a need for affordable housing of this type in the Boston area, and we’re proud to be bringing such a large number of homes forward to help address that need.

“It also further affirms our commitment to providing the homes people want, where they’re needed most.

“I’m looking forward to watching the development continue to grow and welcoming our first customers to their new homes.”

The development will be made up of 12 one-bedroom homes, 69 two-bedroom properties, 50 three-bedroom homes and a further four with four-bedrooms.

They’ll be made available for Shared Ownership, Rent to Buy and social rent. The scheme is being part-funded through a grant from Homes England and is scheduled for completion in 2025.
