Planners have given the go-ahead for a 24-hour drive-through Starbucks on Queens Drive, Nottingham.
BSP Consulting was appointed by Benchmark Property to provide civil, structural and transportation engineering services for the scheme.
It’s a site that’s well known to BSP, as this is the third project on the plot on the corner of Queens Drive and Castle Bridge Road that the company has been involved in.
The new Starbucks – designed by architects Stephen George + Partners – will be built on vacant land next to a Dunelm store.

BSP has a strong presence in both food and non-food retail developments including large multiple retail shopping center major food superstores and local food stores, neighbourhood centres schemes, fast food restaurants, roadside retail and major town centre regeneration schemes throughout the UK.
Our expertise includes assessing the structural integrity of existing buildings to brand new sustainable outlets to meet the changing needs of the retail environment, particularly the impact that technology and the internet is having on purchasing methods and habits.
Whether the project is a major town centre development or a single retail outlet, we deliver vibrant, safe and sustainable retail environments which give our clients a leading edge in today’s competitive market. The diverse range of shopping facilities developed by the country’s leading retailers and property developers require imaginative, cost-effective, carefully detailed structures.
Using Building Information Modelling (BIM). we are able to deliver better buildings, more quickly and at a lower cost than the traditional building process. Effective BIM implementation helps avoid design alterations, reducing risk and time re-working the scheme. It provides a time saving solution during which we have now established a REVIT drawing system that includes templates, standard details and drawing protocols.
We also work in many other sectors, have a look at our newsletter to see what we have been up to recently.
