BSP was part of the team which developed a Nottinghamshire social housing scheme that has won an award. The site in Dale Lane Blidworth Nottinghamshire, has been named as the Best Small Social Housing Development at the East Midlands LABC Building Excellence Awards.
Dale Lane Blidworth Nottinghamshire, features six new homes on the site of a former garage in the village, the project was delivered by a team including Gusto Construction Ltd, SGA Architects and Newark and Sherwood District Council.
BSP undertook the civil and structural engineering elements of the scheme.
BSP associate director Carol Ell said: “We were delighted to hear that this Nottinghamshire social housing scheme in Blidworth had won an award.
“BSP has vast experience of working on both social housing and private housing developments and it’s always great news when a project is well received.
“Social housing is very important in places like Blidworth and similar villages, so we feel very pleased to have played a part in this scheme, as civil and structural engineers for the development.” The LABC Building Excellence Awards are the largest business to business awards in the building control sector in the UK.
The national finals take place on Friday 24th January 2025 at Grosvenor House in London.
Key challenges and engineering solutions
Levels were steep on this site and garden gradients were difficult to work. There needed to be large retaining walls on the rear and sides of the development due to the level differences.
