Work is under way on site on a West Bridgford neighbourhood centre, near Nottingham.
The development marks the commercial element of a mixed-use scheme by Quora.
BSP is the civil and structural engineer on the project, which is being built off Wilford Lane in West Bridgford.
The 41,000 sq ft scheme is pre-let to Lidl for a 21,000 sq ft food store, a 10,000 sq ft PureGym, 1,800 sq ft Starbucks and a retail parade of circa 7,000ft2.
The West Bridgford neighbourhood centre marks the first phase of development on the site, which has been empty for many years since the demolition of the former Berni and Beefeater Inn, The Château.
Local Centres
It is the latest in a number of mixed use/local centres that BSP has worked on for Quora around the country, including Hull, Peterlee, Leeds, Doncaster, Skegness and St Neots.
Other members of the team on the West Bridgford project include Jessops Construction Ltd and architects The Harris Partnership.
Construction is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of next year.
BSP business development director Jef Todd said: “BSP has partnered with the Quora team on a number of neighbourhood centres across the country and it’s great to be involved in this scheme which is not far from our headquarters in Nottingham.
“Wilford Lane is one of the key roads into the city and West Bridgford is a popular place to live. This site has been empty for some time and it is good to see that work has now started on the development.”
