The Avenues Newark Nottinghamshire, is a new-build development of 67 houses and 20 flats, located on Lord Hawke Way, Newark. The homes are superbly located, The Avenues takes advantage of the attractions of historic Newark-on-Trent within easy walking distance, a terrific range of leisure facilities are right on the doorstep along with access to a great transport network.
The Avenues is a stunning collection of contemporary 2 bed apartments, bungalows, houses and spacious 3 and 4 bed homes.
BSP Consulting were employed to carry out civil and structural engineering consultancy services, this included a flood risk assessment and drainage strategy.
Sustainable infiltration based surface water drainage solutions were used throughout the project and thus the site achieves zero surface water runoff.
Early engagement between BSP, the Architect and NCC highways enabled areas of the site to be designated for highway soakaways to ensure the adoptable highways were sustainably drained.
A variety of permeable surfaces and soakaways were used to drain the plot areas.
Site levels were lifted for plots furthest away from the existing Severn Trent Water foul sewage infrastructure to avoid the need to pump foul water.
