SSAFA Southglade Health Centre was built by SSAFA Forces Help to provide primary medical care to the Bestwood and Top Valley areas.SSAFA Forces Help
This project comprises of the construction of a new two-storey Health Centre within a council owned estate also containing a Leisure Centre, Sure Start Centre and a Library.
Extensive earthworks and piling were involved in this project on a sloping site to create a new two-storey health Centre for SSAFA Forces Help.
The building was a mix of traditional masonry with elements of steel frame sat over extensive reinforced concrete works forming the lower ground floor within the lower section of slope on the site.
The building envelope has a mixture of finishes including through colour render, buff brickwork, copper coloured Trespa with high quality fenestration. The roof was formed in aluminium standing seam with matching eaves system and housed extensive PV panels all warranted by Kalzip.
The internal finishes chosen for the project were all to a high standard and HTM compliant.
The building achieved a ‘very good’ rating under BREEAM.
