Hallam Fields Primary School is a one-form entry school to serve the Hallam Fields estate on the west side of Birstall, Leicestershire.
The school and recreation facilities have been designed by the county council and built on land located within the Hallam Fields housing development off the A6 in Birstall. The school will provide a sustainable, good or outstanding school within an existing and inspiring broad and balanced curriculum that meets the needs of all pupils.
BSP Consulting faced some key challenges, the team dealt with complex earthworks balancing, this was due to the large levels difference found across the site. The hybrid structural design helped to achieve aspirations at an affordable cost. BSP used a SUDS drainage solution involving swales, filter margins and raingardens at the site.
