A purpose built development for older people, to enable residents to maintain their independence.Manager, Asra Housing Group
Several green initiatives were incorporated into this project to create a new state-of-the-art extra care facility that features 71 homes – all meeting Lifetime Homes Standards. Albany House has whole house heat recovery systems, rainwater harvesting, a bio-diverse green roof and is also connected to the local district heating system.
Designed for the over 55s with features and support services that enable older people to enjoy active independent lifestyles, the complex features communal facilities including a restaurant, lounge, hairdressers and activity room, as well as the apartments. It was built on land that formerly housed self-contained flats for the elderly.
The complex is being run by housing group Asra and was officially opened in January 2012 by leader of Nottingham City Council Jon Collins.
