BSP is part of the team building a new West Bridgford care home for Tanglewood Care Services.
The firm was involved in the pre-planning stages of the scheme, providing flood risk assessment and traffic services.
BSP has now been retained for structural engineering services on the 72-bedroomed development, which will be spread over five floors.
BSP managing director Carl Hilton said: “BSP was delighted to have been involved in the pre-planning stages of this striking scheme to build a new West Bridgford care home. We are very pleased that the development has now received planning permission from Rushcliffe Borough Council.
“We have worked with Tanglewood on a number of projects and it’s great to be working on this landmark project in Nottingham. We look forward to being part of the team taking the scheme forward to fruition over the coming months.”
Superb facilities
The purpose-built home will boast a wellness spa and jacuzzi, a rooftop garden and offer panoramic views of Nottingham, taking in the River Trent and Trent Bridge Cricket Ground. It is being built on the corner of Bridgford Road and Loughborough Road on a site that is currently used as a car park.
Other members of the team include specialist care home designers C Squared Architects and planning consultants Planning and Design Group. Contractor is Stoke-on-Trent-based Sandycroft Construction Ltd.
Design work on the steel-framed development is now under way and work is due to start on site this spring, with completion expected in 2023.
Tanglewood has a number of care homes across Lincolnshire and is currently building a care home in Beeston, Nottingham, as well as the one in West Bridgford. Its vision is to be the local care home of choice by innovation, inspiration and excellence.
