Schlüter-Systems has formally opened new training facilities in Leicestershire.

BSP Consulting was the civil and structural engineer on the project to develop the new training facilities and gallery at the company’s Coalville headquarters.

The scheme marked the end of a four-year development programme for Schlüter-Systems, a German-based tile installations products supplier.

It features a 980m2 extension, including a gallery with 24 displays, a training facility, and 682mof warehouse space, along with administrative support offices.

The work included refurbishment and the development of a purpose-made training facility which will be used to educate industry professionals, resellers and specifiers about Schlüter-Systems’ range.

Director at BSP Consulting, Paul Elphick, said: “We were very pleased to work on the new gallery and training facilities in Leicestershire for Schlüter-Systems, a market leading manufacturer of tile installation products.

“The project has expanded the premises in Coalville and provided super additional facilities, along with minor improvements to the entrance and existing car park.”

Other members of the team involved in the project included architect Lewis and Hickey, contractor Henry Brothers Construction and mechanical and electrical engineers CPW.

Open evening

At the open evening to mark the formal launch of the new training facilities and gallery, guests saw company directors Marc and Udo Schlüter, whose father Werner founded the company in 1966, cut a ribbon.

They also heard a speech from UK MD, Joachim Backes, who said: “This milestone aligns seamlessly with Schlüter’s vision to extend our reach to more installers. It underscores Schlüter’s unwavering commitment to training installers across our organisation. Our aim is, and has always been, to exceed expectations by providing the best possible solutions for tile and stone applications.”

After the presentations, guests explored the new facilities alongside rugby World Cup-winning captain, Martin Johnson, who hosted a Q&A session.
