Our MD David Sumner has raised more than £2,000 (including Gift Aid) for the Multiple Sclerosis Society after successfully completing the 10in10 challenge.
David would like to thank colleagues, clients, associates and friends for their generous donations.
Almost 500 people – some from as far away as the USA and Norway – took part in the annual walk which conquers ten peaks in ten hours in the Lake District.
The money raised at the event will be channelled into research into stem cell treatment in MS and in particular how stem cells could be used to repair myelin – the protective layer that surrounds nerve fibres which is damaged by MS.
“The 10in10 challenge was a great experience and I was delighted to complete it in less than six hours,” said David. “My wife Pat has been living with MS for more than 20 years, so this was a cause very close to my heart. I am very grateful to all those who sponsored me, and would like to thank them for their generosity.”
The 10in10 covered a distance of more than 16 miles, starting and finishing near Keswick and taking in Causey Pike, Sail, Crag Hill, Wandope, Whiteless Pike, High Snockrigg, Robinson, Dale Head, High Spy, and Maiden Moor.
David’s fundraising page will remain open for a while and is here https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/David-Sumner1
