Planning permission has been granted for a rural site near Oakham to allow a furniture manufacturer to relocate and expand.

BSP Consulting was part of the team led by HSSP Architects which secured planning permission for the development.

BSP undertook transport planning, the flood risk and drainage strategy, and noise assessment work for the scheme at Pheasants Roost, Lyndon Road, Manton.

The change of use of former farm buildings to commercial use will allow Willowbrook Education to relocate from the company’s existing site near North Luffenham.

Rutland County Council has now granted planning permission for the Pheasants Roost site, which is between Oakham and Uppingham.

BSP associate director Jason Davenport said: “The team at BSP was happy to hear that this rural site near Oakham has received planning permission which will allow a change of use.

“The development will support Willowbrook Education in its growth plans.”

Detailed plans

The planning permission includes change of use from agricultural to business, conversion of existing buildings, adaption, and new build elements, including a new yard and parking areas with access improvements.

Willowbrook Education, which was established in 2001, is currently based near Stamford. The company produces a large selection of school storage furniture. All products are manufactured on site and delivered complete to customers as ready built units.
