BSP has been building on the company’s extensive retail experience with a host of shopping store developments recently.
The company is currently working on a number of schemes with Quora, a leading national commercial and mixed-use property development firm specialising in retail and mixed-use developments in town, district and local centres.
The professional relationship between individuals within the Quora and BSP teams is well established and dates back more than 20 years.
BSP director Carl Hilton said: “Quora are an important client to us at BSP and we enjoy a strong and established relationship with this dynamic business whom we are able to assist in the delivery of their developments, many of which can be challenging brownfield sites.”
BSP is providing civil and structural engineering support currently for Quora schemes in Holbeck, Leeds, and Eaton Socon, St Neots.
Work began on site on the Leeds project in January, and includes the redevelopment of an existing local retail park, which it is hoped will revitalise local retail provision in the town. The site has secured an anchor tenant in Aldi, and the second unit is under negotiation. It is due to be completed in September 2015.
Aldi, B&M and Pets at Home have been secured as anchor tenants for the Eaton Socon redevelopment, with further development opportunities on the site for four employment units. Work is due to get underway on site in May 2015, with completion expected in February 2016.
Richard Wherry, from Quora, said: “Quora are very pleased with the appointment of BSP on these schemes and look forward to overcoming the challenges ahead with the confidence of having BSP dealing with all the structural and civil engineering aspects associated with town centre sites.”
