Vicarage Court Mickleover Derby

The Vicarage Road scheme was opened by film director Ken Loach in November 2011.  Using sustainable technology and the latest construction methods, it was Derwent Living’s first scheme to be developed to level 5 of the Code for Sustainable Homes (CfSH).

The scheme was developed to mirror the adjacent public library. The properties were constructed with thin joint block walls with an insulated render.  The triple glazed windows were manufactured with timber frames constructed with wood from sustainable forests.  Features include mechanical ventilation and heat recovery, photo voltaic panelling, hot water solar panelling and rainwater harvesting.

In 2012 Vicarage Court won “Derbyshire Scheme of the Year” at the East Midlands Forum for the Built Environment (fbe) awards..
