Congratulations to CPMG Architects, whose new office is a British Council of Offices award finalist.
BSP supported CPMG Architects to develop its newly revamped space within a three-storey Grade II listed property in St Peter’s Gate, Nottingham.
The building was originally the headquarters of the Nottingham Water Company and dates from the 1870s.
BSP undertook some structural engineering design work for CPMG for the scheme.
The building has now been shortlisted in three categories in this year’s BCO Midlands & Central Awards – refurbished workplace, projects up to 1,500 square metres, and fit out of workplace.
BSP business development manager Carrie Booth said: “Having worked with CPMG Architects on many projects over several years, we were very pleased to support the company to develop their new office last year. It’s fantastic news that the workspace has been shortlisted in not one, but three awards in the British Council for Offices Awards. It’s a real feather in the cap for the development to be an office scheme award finalist. We wish the CPMG Architects team good luck in the final.”
New mezzanine
CPMG managing director Richard Flisher said: “We are incredibly proud to have our office named as a finalist in several categories this year, demonstrating that our commitment to exceptional spaces remains as high as ever.”
CPMG, which was founded in 1997 and designs buildings across the UK and around the world signed a lease on its new Nottingham office in 2020 during lockdown. The building had previously been a banking HQ and a restaurant, before lying vacant for three years. Its high ceilings, generous glazing and large volumes permitted the introduction of a mezzanine where the design studio, associated project storage, personal storage toolboxes and informal meeting space are located.
The company moved in following conversion in July 2021.
The BCO Midlands & Central Awards Lunch takes place on 20th May at ICC Birmingham, Broad Street, Birmingham.
