January 29, 2025

An official opening ceremony has been held for a new padel tennis scheme completed in Nottinghamshire.

BSP Consulting was the civil and structural engineer for the development at the One Call Stadium in Mansfield, which is the UAE-based World Padel Academy’s first international facility.

The development was designed by CPMG Architects, with Grace Machin as the planning consultant.

The Mansfield scheme is the second completed by this team, and follows the opening of padel tennis courts at Notts County’s Meadow Lane ground in Nottingham.

BSP director Tony Goddard, who attended the opening event, said: “We were very pleased to be part of the team developing this new padel tennis scheme in Nottinghamshire. Having previously worked on a similar project at Notts County’s ground we had experience of this particular type of facility, and indeed we are currently looking at a third scheme.

“With padel being one of the fastest growing sports in the world, it’s great that this new padel tennis scheme has been completed in Mansfield, giving local residents the chance to try their hand at this popular leisure activity.”
