Work has been completed on the latest phase of a scheme to build new business park units in Lincolnshire.
Having been involved in previous phases of Discovery Park at Whisby Road, North Hykeham, BSP Consulting was also appointed as the civil and structural engineer for the third phase.
It featured an extension to the access road and the creation of four new units housed over two buildings, which have been taken up by companies including Howdens, Screwfix and Brewers.
The development was brought forward by Lindum Group, which owns the land, in conjunction with property agents Banks Long and Co.
Principal engineer at BSP, Tim Wilson, said: “We have worked with the Lindum Group regularly over many years and we are very pleased to have been involved in Discovery Park which is creating new business park units in Lincolnshire.
“It’s great to see well-known operators interested in moving into the units, which are strategically very well placed.”
Screwfix is a retailer of trade tools, accessories and hardware products while Howdens is a supplier of kitchens and joinery products for the building trade. Brewers is a high-end decorator’s merchant.
Phase three featured the construction of an 8,000 sq ft building for Howdens and three units in a second building, totalling 11,000 sq ft.
The scheme continues the development of the seven-acre Discovery Park site, which has thousands of sq ft of employment space and has generated opportunities for scores of jobs.
The development fronts Whisby Road within the south west business quarter of Lincoln and has an excellent strategic position providing quick access to the A46 Lincoln bypass, which in turn leads to the A1 (11 miles away) and all other major road links.
Earlier phases created a new home for Lincoln Precision Engineering and 15 industrial units for North Kesteven District Council.
