Engineers at BSP are working on four separate health centre projects worth a total of around £13 million. Three of the schemes are being built by Haven Health, with Quadrant the project manager.
Work has almost been completed on a £1.65 million project at Melbourne Park, Aspley, in Nottingham, which includes a two-storey, new build extension and a refurbishment of the existing medical centre.
The client is Haven Health, contractor is A and S Enterprises, and architect is C2J Architects, with Quadrant the project manager.
Work has started on site at an £8 million two-storey medical centre in Newbury Place, Salford, which features a Tesco Express alongside various health services, and also at a £1.8 million medical centre in Clipstone, north Nottinghamshire. Both are due to be completed later this year.
BSP is the civil and structural engineer for both of these schemes, as well as dealing with transportation planning for the Clipstone development.
Client for the Salford project is Level Healthcare, the contractor is Thomas Barnes Construction and the architect is Ainsley Gommon Architects. The Clipstone development is being built by Haven Health, with the contractor Trent Build and the architects C2J Architects, and the project manager is Quadrant.
Meanwhile work is about to get underway on site at a £1.75 million proposed new medical centre and associated pharmacy for Guildhall Surgery in Bradstone Avenue, Folkestone, where BSP is the civil and structural engineer, and has also been involved in pre-planning issues. The one and two-storey building is being constructed by a team including Haven Health, Quadrant and architect Antony J Kavanagh.
BIM has been used on both the Salford and the Folkestone schemes.
