BSP Consulting is playing a structural engineering role in improvements being carried out at the King’s Mill Hospital project, near Sutton-in-Ashfield.
Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has been awarded £2m capital funding to boost the accident and emergency services at the hospital.
The work involves upgrading facilities to increase capacity, support patient flow and reduce crowding.
It will also help to cut the risk of Covid-19 infections.
NHS Shared Business Services Framework
BSP Consulting was employed by TAD Architects under the NHS Shared Business Services Framework to provide structural and civil engineering advice on the project.
The company has given drainage advice, which included modifications to below-ground drainage running under the building.
BSP also provided professional structural engineering input, with advice on load-bearing walls.
BSP chartered structural engineer Monika Anszperger said: “BSP is proud to have played a supporting role in helping to improve the facilities at one of Nottinghamshire’s hospitals. This has come at a time when we value our NHS more than ever.
“The developments at King’s Mill Hospital will provide benefits for both patients and staff. It’s a very meaningful project to be involved in, especially at the moment.”
This King’s Mill Hospital project is the latest in a number of health and care schemes undertaken by BSP Consulting.
The company has worked on hospitals, primary care developments, and health centres.
