BSP Consulting is part of the team delivering an extension for DCG – Derby College Group.
The development is being built at The Broomfield Hall Campus – a working estate in the Derwent Valley in Derbyshire, near Morley, Ilkeston, which offers land-based and leisure courses in subjects such as animal care, agriculture, equine studies, sport and public services.
Engineers at BSP Consulting are providing civil and structural engineering services for the two-storey, steel-frame extension to the Chatsworth Building.
Designed by YMD Boon and being constructed by T & C Williams Builders for DCG – Derby College Group, the development has a footprint of 135 metres squared.
Other members of the team include M & E consultants Hba Consulting Engineers and quantity surveyor Armsons Barlow.

The two-storey Chatsworth Building was built almost 15 years ago to provide state-of-the art teaching and laboratory facilities and features two laboratories and a computer suite. This extension will provide additional teaching space, equipped to facilitate the high demand there is now for IT access and use.
It is due to be completed before the end of May 2025.
