The team at BSP Consulting is delighted with the news that Castleward won the Regeneration and Restoration Project of the Year at the 2017 East Midlands Property Dinner.
BSP Consulting was the civil, structural, geotechnical and transportation engineer for phase one of the £100 million development close to the centre of Derby, and has now been appointed for phase two.
Phase one featured approximately 160 new two, three and four-bedroom homes as well as two-bed apartments. The first phase also included 16,500sqft of commercial space.
Phase two will be for around 100 homes across the brownfield site, including Liversage Street, Canal Street and Wellington Street.
When completed, Castleward will see 30 acres transformed into a useable space featuring 800 new houses and over 30,000sqft of commercial opportunities.
Castleward, a joint venture between Derby City Council and Compendium Living, scooped the Regeneration and Restoration Project Award sponsored by The Land Trust at the EMPD Awards held at the Nottingham Belfry.
BSP Consulting business development director Jef Todd said: “Castleward is a fantastic regeneration project near to the centre of Derby and a thoroughly deserving winner of this award. As a company, BSP has been involved since the concept stage and we are delighted and proud to be a part of the team that is now delivering the scheme.”
In 2014, Castleward became the second development project in the country to receive the BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) approval for overall sustainability (BREEAM Communities).
