  • Degree or other qualification in a relevant subject

Desired

  • 12 + years’ experience in the industry and have an aspiration to grow, establish and manage your own transport planning team
  • To demonstrate a proven track record of developing new business, managing multiple projects, key client contacts, and other stakeholders simultaneously
  • Excellent report writing skills with experience of preparing Transport Statements and Assessments, Travel Plans, – Understanding of relevant local and national transport policy and guidance
  • Excellent organisation, communication, and presentation skills, with high standard of attention to detail and personal work ethic
  • Member of a professional institution such as the CIHT, IHE, TPS, (and preferably chartered via TPP, or CMILT)
  • Knowledge of sustainable / active travel innovations and design standards
  • Knowledge of DfT Webtag policy and strategic/microsimulation modelling such as VISSIM or PARAMICS Discovery
  • Experience in using AutoCAD, TRICS and other relevant software (e.g. Linsig, Picady/Arcady/Junctions etc) would be an advantage
  • Experience in transport planning/development control

Specification

Purpose

BSP Consulting has an immediate vacancy for an Associate/Principal Transport Planner Nottingham to work within our experienced Transportation engineering design team.

Responsibilities

The position would primarily involve the preparation of transport assessments and travel plans to accompany planning applications for private sector clients.

We also provide highway advice on planning issues and prepare horizontal designs for site access junctions and highway improvements for highway authority approval.

Experience

Experience of using AutoCAD, TRICS and other relevant software (e.g. Linsig, Picady, Arcady etc) would also be an advantage.

Education

Applicants should ideally have a degree or other qualification in a relevant subject and/or experience in highways/civil engineering/transport planning/development control.

Hours of work: A minimum of 37.5 hours per week, core hours are 9am until 4pm, Monday to Friday where staff are required to be at work.

Holidays: Allowance is in line with industry standard and is subject to relevant experience.

Salary: A competitive salary will be offered and is subject to relevant experience. Company pension scheme. Hybrid working
