Engineers at BSP Consulting are helping to realise the flexible working vision at HR and payroll software experts MHR.
The company was the civil and structural engineer on the firm’s new build Wellington House building at Ruddington Fields Business Park, near Nottingham.
The new block was designed to maximise flexible working and develop a creative working environment – with BSP designing structural engineering concepts to replace internal columns with beams and help realise the vision.
Now BSP is also involved in the renovation and refurbishment, on the same site, of MHR’s Britannia House – removing a significant number of columns and replacing them with heavy beams to create a similar open feel.
“This is going beyond open plan,” said BSP director Clive Roddick. “This is really maximising open space, using structural design expertise to develop a flexible, state-of-the-art working area.”
MHR is an independent company specialising in HR and payroll software and services. Established in 1984, the growing company now employs more than 700 employees and supports over 1,000 UK organisations from its three offices in Ruddington.
