Congratulations

Well done to BSP Consulting team member Josh Plumridge who was named runner-up Apprentice of the Year at the EEM Building Communities Awards in March. We’re proud of structural engineering apprentice Josh who has been working in our Nottingham office since September 2020 and is part way through a four-year Civil Engineering Degree at Derby University.

Award win

Great to see an award presented to Leicester’s new St Margaret’s Bus Station. The £14.3m redevelopment took top spot in the infrastructure and transport-related development category of the Future Cities Forum Winter Awards 2022. BSP designed the road changes around the site as part of the new scheme.

Net zero seminar

As part of BSP’s commitment to employee Continuous Professional Development, seminars focusing on net zero were held in the Nottingham, Derby and Leicester offices. They were led by Lee Marshall, a chartered engineer and MD of Viridis Building Services. Pictured is the Leicester seminar.

Chesterfield Champion

As a Chesterfield Champion, BSP was very pleased to attend the recent Celebrate Chesterfield Business Conference – organised by Destination Chesterfield – which attracted more than 250 delegates. It took place at the Winding Wheel Theatre.

CPD

Associate transport planner Jo Posnett recently spoke to our Leicester team about more effectively using Deltek PIM – our cloud hosted financial project analysis. This CPD session was followed by business development manager Carrie Booth explaining more about BSP’s business development and marketing strategy for 2023. Carrie’s talk has also been carried out in the Nottingham office.

Try it, you’ll strike it

Members of BSP’s Leicester team took part in the ProCon Emerging Talent ten pin bowling session held at East Street Lanes in the city. Emerging Talent is a networking group run by young professionals for the benefit of the emerging talent in the Leicestershire property and construction sector. Details here.

Lucky shirts

Congratulations to Ruddington under nines football team, who we supported with some kit sponsorship a year and a half ago.

Following on from winning the Summer league last year, the team got into the quarter finals of the local cup and then won their league without losing a game! Quite an achievement!

Leo, pictured second from the right on the front row, is the son of BSP associate Gareth Ellison.

Sporting success is currently running in the Ellison family, with younger son Archie winning the U7’s East Midlands Apparatus competition recently with three golds and three silvers in the six disciplines.

Wedding bells

Congratulations to transport planner Milan Vadher and his wife Danielle on their recent wedding, which took place at The Barns at Hunsbury Hill in Northampton. Milan works in our Leicester office.
