BSP strikes gold
We’re delighted to announce that BSP Consulting has upgraded its Constructionline membership from silver to gold. The membership confirms that the company has met pre-qualification requirements appropriate to public and private sector procurement.
Charity golf day
BSP civil engineer Oliver Dike and civil engineering technician Lewis Walker, from our Derby office, hosted a team at a charity golf day at Beeston Fields Golf Club organised by residential developer MyPad.
They were joined by guests Craig Stopper, regional construction framework manager at G F Tomlinson, and Gareth Bevan, pre-construction manager at Lovell, at the event, which raised just short of £2,000 for Prostate Cancer UK and Beeston Air Cadets.
Careers fair support
Three members of our team took part in Ratcliffe College Careers Fair – offering students advice about careers in civil and structural engineering. Pictured, left to right, are transport planner Caitlin Simon, apprentice structural engineer Josh Plumridge, and graduate flood risk engineer Tom Hall. BSP has built up a good relationship with the Leicestershire college, having worked on a number of projects there including a fitness suite and sports hall.
EDGE event
BSP director Paul Elphick and associate director Jason Davenport were joined by Matt Faulkner, from BEC Consulting, and Kevin Hard, from Stagfield Group, to make a team for the EDGE charity golf day held at Ramsdale Golf Club, Calverton. The event was in aid of Nottingham charity EPIC Partners which works with children and young people in Sneinton and St Ann’s to provide mentoring, youth activities and offers support to raise aspirations in the communities.
Festive fun
Senior civil engineering technician Adam Stickels played the leading role during a special afternoon at Ashby House Adult Learning Disability Respite Services, run by Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust.
The event in Nuneaton raised £400 for the unit and brought joy to the faces of everyone involved.
Adam, who works in our Leicester office, made a great Santa. He’s pictured with members of the unit’s staff.

Food donation
BSP’s staff generously donated to Derby Food4Thought Alliance as part of an event organised for Marketing Derby Bondholders by Wavensmere Homes, who invited fellow Bondholders to preview the Friar Gate Goods Yard development at an event held at Pride Park Stadium. The charity helps people in Derby who are facing food poverty, whilst offering support and signposting to help address the root cause of their deprivation.
BSP’s Nottingham office brought some festive cheer by donating to a food bank collection organised by Re:Church in Lowater Street, Carlton, to help those in need.
University careers event
BSP had a stand at the Built Environment, Engineering and Technology Fair 2023 held at the University of Derby in November. It was fronted by principal civil engineer Ollie McElroy and transport planner Caitlin Simon, who both work in our Derby office.

Three BSP colleagues from our Leicester office raised more than £300 for Cancer Research UK after taking the plunge and completing the charity’s 10K swim challenge.
Director Paul Elphick, associate Carol Ell and senior structural technician Alina Tot undertook the challenge during the month of November.
