We are delighted that a project we were involved in for global fabrics business ROMO has been shortlisted as a BCO scheme award finalist.
Maber Architects nominated the £30 million head office development at Kirkby-in-Ashfield in the British Council of Offices awards.
BSP Consulting was the civil, structural and transportation engineer for the 33,000m2 building, which features offices, process and storage areas, and a fully automated warehouse.
The scheme consolidated the ROMO business, which had previously been spread across four sites, into one headquarters building. This allowed for greater efficiency and removed the need to transport fabrics and other products between sites.
BSP business development manager Carrie Booth said: “It is great news that the ROMO headquarters building has been shortlisted in these awards. Although completed in 2020, this is the first opportunity for the project to compete in the BCO Awards, due to the pandemic.
“Here at BSP we are very proud to have been part of the team that developed this key building for ROMO.”
In addition, BSP undertook some structural engineering design work for CPMG’s new office in St Peter’s Gate, Nottingham, which has also been shortlisted in the BCO Midlands and Central Awards.
The final takes place on 20th May at ICC Birmingham.
