BSP Consulting is celebrating news of an award for a regeneration scheme that the team was involved in.
The development at Farnborough Road, Clifton, Nottingham, was undertaken by housing provider NCHA and Pelham Architects.
BSP Consulting was the civil and structural engineer, and also undertook the transport planning for the project – a mixed-use development on the site of a former college.
Featuring affordable housing, supported housing and a new office for about 200 NCHA colleagues, the development was built by GEDA.
It was named Regeneration and Restoration Project of the Year at the East Midlands Property Dinner 2025.
Judges’ view
The judges said: “This is a standout example of socially-driven regeneration, blending affordable housing, community services and sustainable design. The transformation of this brownfield site into a multi-use, Green Belt-sensitive community hub reflects thoughtful planning, strong partnerships, and a deep commitment to social value.”
The development includes BREEAM Excellent buildings, solar panels and living roofs. It has biodiversity-led landscaping and pedestrian-friendly routes.
The award was presented at the EMPD Awards 2025, which were celebrating their 25th anniversary.
Members of the development team from NCHA, Pelham Architects, GEDA, Chord Consult and BSP Consulting joined the celebrations.

- At the same awards ceremony, a joint venture between Vistry East Midlands and Nottinghamshire County Council to deliver 763 homes at Top Wighay Farm near Hucknall was highly commended in the Deal of the Year Award and Lovell’s £22m deal with Placefirst to progress phase four of the Castleward regeneration scheme in Derby was shortlisted in the same category. BSP Consulting is part of the team involved in the Castleward scheme and also developed the overarching drainage strategy for the whole Wighay Farm site at the outline planning stage.
