BSP has been appointed civil, structural and geotechnical engineers for a new, £1.3m affordable housing scheme in the Alexandra Park area of Nottingham.
The development of 13 homes on Albert Road is being built as part of a partnership between Loughborough-based contractor and developer, William Davis Ltd and affordable housing provider, asra Housing Group.
Work is expected to begin on site in March 2014, with completion due in early 2015.
The scheme comprises a mix of two and three-bedroom properties for shared ownership, and will create a courtyard of family homes with parking that will be framed by the Croft, a sprawling Victorian villa that provided refuge for unsupported women and their babies during the 1960s and 1970s.
The properties will be built to Code for Sustainable Homes level 3, with half the properties having solar PV panels to take advantage of the site’s south facing aspect.
Funding for the scheme has been provided by the Homes and Communities Agency.
