BSP Consulting has an immediate vacancy in our Nottingham office for a civil engineering graduate or senior civil engineering technician to work within our experienced civil engineering design team.
The team works for clients throughout the East Midlands and United Kingdom, designing civil engineering aspects of a wide range of schemes. The works include SuDS drainage schemes and highway works using Microdrainage and PDS industry standard software with final drawings produced in AutoCAD. The team also carry out river modelling and flood risk assessments using Flood Modeller river modelling software.
A logical analytical approach to problem solving should be demonstrated. The successful candidate will specifically be able to;-
Operate, autonomously with minimal guidance in relation to design updates, drafting and detailing.
Operate with guidance in the production of basic design solutions when provided with constraints.
Undertake and respond to project based queries by telephone or other means and feedback to others.
Specific experience in the use of AutoCAD for technical drawing will ideally be demonstrated at interview.
The successful candidate will be given on the job guidance to achieve their individually led development and they will work closely with the other members of the civil engineering team. We operate an ICE registered graduate training scheme which will be open to the successful candidate. Client care is of paramount importance to us as a company, as is the ongoing development and wellbeing of our staff.
The role would suit a BSc/BEng (Hons) qualified civil engineering graduate who has some relevant experience within the industry, circa one year minimum.
Additionally we would consider an experienced, HND qualified civil engineering senior technician.
This role will include the design and drafting of civil engineering works for a wide ranging, variety of sectors.

Hours of work: A minimum of 40 hours per week, from 8.30am-5.00pm, Monday to Friday with 30 minutes lunch.
Holidays: Allowance is in line with industry standard and is subject to relevant experience.
